At this point, we have all been incredibly impacted by Covid-19 and the Coronavirus. Schools are closing, grocery stores running out of supplies, we're trying to work from home if possble; it’s all quite surreal.
We wanted to let you know that at Erie Coffee Roasters, we’ve always taken the utmost care with our products. Coffee is considered a food, and as such, we have always gone above and beyond to ensure our products are clean & safe for consumption.
With Nate & Lisa’s background in biopharmaceutical development & manufacturing support, cleanliness has always been key. They have brought this expertise and commitment, as well as the guidance from the FDA and Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment to their coffee & tea product manufacturing from Day 1. All of the employees at ECR are trained with this same level of cleanliness detail; from washing hands multiple times per day, to wearing food-grade nitrile gloves (and changing them often) throughout the roasted coffee process. We have a meticulous cleaning process in place for the entire production facility and all of our glassware, utensils, and containers are washed and sterilized prior to use.
From the time the green coffee arrives at our shop, there are a total of 4 people that may come into contact with your coffee, and they are all employed by ECR, so we know exactly who they are! When we deliver to homes, we deliver to the doorstep so there is no touching of doorbells, door handles, or the like.
So, while there is love roasted into every batch of coffee, and a personalized note attached to each bag, it’s all done so in the cleanest manner possible 😄
